Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian songwriter and singer. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk and alternative rock and pop, however she also draws influences from jazz and hip-hop. She is widely considered to be a feminist icon. Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is considered to be the father of the DIY movement. She was one of the first artists to create her own label 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd, 1970. She was the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco, who had met while attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The mother of her is from Montreal and her father comes from Italian roots. 32 Flavors is a song that was written by with and performed by Ani DiFranco. It was included as the fifth single from DiFranco's 1995 studio album Not a Pretty Girl. A variation of the song can be heard on the soundtrack of the 1999 Canadian love story Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized for arranging a conference in Louisiana on an old plantation for slaves. The workshop was cancelled, but several (including this piece) weren't able to detect any regret. DiFranco apologized for her mistake within a few days of her first apology. Although she is known as the Little Folksinger, her songs have embraced a variety of genres and collaborators ranging in a variety of styles from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. She hails from New Orleans. Ani diFranco and Kristen Ford are together. The first song she wrote was at the age of 14. She played them at caf s and bars through her teens. DiFranco began taking classes at Buffalo State College at age 16, after she graduated from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.
